FAQ

Can USB Insert™ work with Mac?
Yes, USB Insert™ works with both PC (up to Windows 7) and Mac.

What are the USB Insert™ configuration requirements?
USB Insert™ can replace almost all your printed marketing tools. The only major requirement is that the cardboard comprising the printed piece must be of sufficient thickness to securely support the USB Insert™ web key unit within the specific USB Insert™ configuration you desire. In circumstances where the USB Insert™ will be mailed, the specific design and configuration you desire must of course be approved by your postal service. As postal service requirements vary by country, postal service approval is the customer’s responsibility.

Can you describe the USB Insert™ worldwide patent?
The USB Insert™ worldwide patent covers the integration of a USB web key into a die-cut, detachable cardboard holder that is fully customizable: shape; color; graphics and logo. The detachable cardboard holder is in turn integrated into a larger printed paper or cardboard piece: ad insert, mailer, brochure, e-Catalog and more.

Does the USB Insert™ web key contain content?
The USB Insert™ web key is essentially a routing device. Beyond the relatively minimal info programmed into the key so that it can instantly route users to your online destination, the key contains little content. It has no content storage capacity. This contrasts with “memory sticks” and “flash drives” (as they are commonly understood), which provide significant amounts of memory for digital data storage.

Is the USB Insert™ web key custom-molded?
No, the USB Insert™ web key is a “standard” web key. What’s custom is the detachable, die-cut cardboard holder into which the web key is integrated. This enables unlimited customization without high custom plastic molding costs. It makes a web key affordable as a mass media vehicle. The consumer sees only a small portion of the web key extending from the custom cover – just enough to plug into their USB port. The cover and key together read as a single, integrated piece.

How can I track visitors who come to my website via USB Insert™?
With your provision of a unique string of up to 100 characters, USB Insert™ can build a tracking parameter into the link embedded in your web key. Visits generated via this tracking code can then be reported using standard analytics packages, including Google Analytics.
